My Favorite Parenting Books

I love to read when I have time, which lets face it, is few and far between these days. Some of my favorite genres include realistic fiction and suspenseful books, as well as some biographical and historical books.  These are the types I love to read to check-out, chill, and quiet my mind.  As us moms know though, sometimes we are called or possibly forced to read parenting books.  While pregnant, I found myself reading a lot of parenting books, to prepare as much as I could for the arrival of our first born.  Even through the first year I continued to read books related to baby's first year periodically.  After the second, I, like so many moms, felt like a pro!  So, I had no need to read the parenting self-help books unless I needed a refresher for something specific.  As I recently combed over my book shelf, I thought about all of the books and realized I needed to share some of my favorites.

Now, living with two full blown toddlers, my parenting reads continue; these books just aren't necessarily out of my panic to keep these little beings alive anymore, but instead involve how to discipline these little dragons.  We have meltdown modes daily and multiple times a day, so here we go...

Some of these are quite serious and super helpful, while others go along with my personality.  I love to laugh and in my opinion there's nothing better than trying to laugh through some of the hardest days living with toddlers.  In those days, I need humor, I need potty mouthed moms like me, and I seek out those books. So, I will asterisk (*) the books that have adult language/humor, therefore if that's not your thing you can skip right over. Or, if you are like me and need some funny adult humor, you can dive right into to those first! :)
